My go-to outfit in the summertime is always a great pair of denim shorts, a tank top, and sandals. It’s my summer uniform! Granted, in San Francisco, it’s usually too cold to wear this (hello year-round sweater weather)! However, I frequently head to the South Bay in the summer to take advantage of the warm weather. And on those days, this is the outfit I’ve been reaching for!
I am obsessed with this olive smocked tie-tank from H&M! I got it a few weeks ago and I’ve already worn it several times! It’s so cute and is perfect for the summer! I think it also looks great with a pair of white pants (these are my fave – I sized up one) and a cardigan during the day, or with jeans and a leather jacket at night! It’s also really affordable – only $15! – and is fully stocked in all sizes. Online, it’s only available in this color, but I also got it in a really cute palm print in my local store. Hopefully they will have it at yours too! I got a size XS and think it runs TTS.
These high-waisted denim shorts from Abercrombie are my current favorite pair of shorts! I think the fit is so flattering and they’re really comfortable! Although high-waisted shorts tend to ride up on me, these ones don’t do it as much, which I like. I would say they run TTS, but I sized up as I like my shorts looser. For reference, I normally wear a 26 in Abercrombie jeans, but I wear a 27 in their shorts. These shorts also come in many other colors (I’m wearing the medium ripped wash) and are currently on sale!
The cognac sandals I’m wearing (also seen here) are old, but I found a few similar options. Here is one style from Target and three from DSW (here, here, and here).
