Baking Christmas Cookies

We are all about the Christmas traditions in my family, and one of the main ones is baking Christmas cookies! Every year, my mom and I don our festive Christmas sweaters, put on holiday music, pop some bubbly (a necessity!), and get to baking. We usually make a couple of batches to give to our family and neighbors. This year we decided to make gingerbread cookies along with our famous (and my favorite!) Russian Tea Cakes.

After the cookies are baked, cooled, and decorated, then comes perhaps the most fun part – plating! I think this would be perfect if you’re having guests over. What could be better than Christmas cookies and champagne served on a pretty platter? We added some melted chocolate and crushed up candy canes to the rims of the glasses to make it even more festive – it’s all in the details!

And for those who do not drink alcohol, you could do hot chocolate instead. I think we will be doing this tomorrow on Christmas morning!

Do you and your family have any favorite Christmas traditions? I would love to know!
