Festive Look for the Holidays

I spent the weekend at my parents house – one of the perks of living an hour away – and am now officially getting into the Christmas spirit after helping decorate the tree and house for the holidays! My roommates decorated our apartment and it looks really cute, but there’s nothing like having a proper home to deck out. On this day, my mom and I popped out for coffee in the morning, and I decided to wear something with a festive vibe to fit my mood.

I purchased this skirt from H&M just before Thanksgiving, and it must have sold out during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale as I no longer see it on their website – sorry! Plaid is very popular this season so there are many options out there, including these grey styles from Express and Shein. I also like these fun red plaid patterns from Shein (here and here), and this cute houndstooth print from Express. I love plaid for the holidays, so be prepared to see it featured in more outfits!

Turtlenecks are a staple in my closet. I basically wear them year-round in San Francisco due to the weather, but they are especially great for this time of year. I think turtlenecks look stylish but are also practical as they help keep you warm in colder weather. On this morning, I chose to wear this ribbed style from Express. It keeps going in and out of stock, so check back if you’re interested. Keep in mind, it is a bit thin so I would pair it with a liner on cooler days, such as this option from Macy’s that I own in multiple colors. This turtleneck from Nordstrom also looks nice.

I paired the outfit with my well-worn over the knee boots from DSW. I also think it would look cute with a pair of black tights and some booties. I’m considering wearing this on Christmas Eve!

P.s. how pretty are these trees! I’m going to miss the fall colors

I hope you’re starting to break out your festive clothes and are getting excited for the holidays!
